Soooo I came to the realization today that there are only three weeks left of school... To some, that may be very exciting. It might mean summer, warm weather and no school work. To those of us that are seniors however, it means something entirely different -- only three weeks until the REAL WORLD!! Yikes!! As much fun as it will be to graduate I'm still becoming more and more terrified daily!! I've gotten used to this whole college thing, why change it now? I know though that just like anything in life, I will just have to embrace it and have fun and live life. :)
Anyhow, enough of my seriousness! Let's see, what have I done lately... Well this weekend and past week were extremely stressful. On Saturday I faced a fear and quite literally participated in a "fake"-ish pagent in front of all of my friends. It was for Trike, the philanthropy week of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. All of the money raised during the week went to Riley Hospital, so at least it was for a good cause. My roommate was also in the Queen competition and we were both quite nervous about it. Not only was I busy studying for an exam, preparing my final marketing project and cleaning my house for the arrival of my parents, I was also trying to figure out what in the world I would do for a "talent, formal wear, and circus wear." Crazy! When the big day arrived I was TERRIFIED!! I'm not one to normally get nervous, but the thought of performing in front of all my friends was quite scary. I wish it had been all strangers! After a brief meltdown I was finally on stage and was able to relax. My talent was "lion-taming." I taught a dog to jump through a hoop and dressed her up like a lion! It was very cute. In the end, I wound up getting second place, but I was thrilled with that. My roommate got first so it worked out quite well!
After all of that it is now time to take on another week. I'd like to say that I have less school work now, but that is just not the case at ALL! This week alone I have a sales profile, mock sales presentation, Cases in PR presentation, Admin Policy presentation and a human-interest story for Techniques all due. Phew! I get tired just writing it all out! I guess that is my cue to get down to work though. More to come and hopefully some pictures of the Queen competition when my mom sends them to me -- gotta love college!! In just one short month it will all be behind me... AHHHH!! :)
