I miss the days of freshman year, when some of my liberal arts classes didn't have final exams, or I only had to turn in a paper to finish the class. The professional pharmacy program isn't that nice to us. This semester, I have a total of five final exams over a period of seven days.
I'm currently on day 2, and I am so ready to be done. My first final was really intense, and I burnt myself out studying for it. Hopefully, I can come out with a decent grade considering I put in all that effort. My exam this morning was less intense (thankfully), but I had to come home and study for another final tomorrow morning. Phew! Tomorrow's final is straight-forward material, but there's quite a bit of material. I've been moving through it at a pretty good pace, so I'm fairly confident that I'll be able to get through everything before bed tonight.
I really, really, really want to take Friday off, but it's just too much time for me to let go to waste. I think I'm going to study in the afternoon, but then take the evening off and go to bed early. I've been trying to get as much sleep as possible over the past week, and I've been fairly successful, despite the fact that I usually spend finals week incredibly sleep deprived. At least when you're absolutely exhausted, you sleep really well!
So what else is new in my life? Classes wrapped up last Monday, which was a great feeling. We also had our Kappa Psi / Phi Delta Chi picnic, and it was a great success. Unfortunately, we ran out of sandwiches, but at least that meant we had a lot of people there! I'm also getting really excited about being able to go home soon. I've heard that there's still ice on the lake at home (which means it's a lot colder there than it is here). I love the weather here right now, but being able to see my two dogs will make up for any lousy weather at home! Plus, I'll get to start working at Safeway soon (less than a month!) and I can't wait to start getting paid!
Until later,
Ashlen
