A Week in the Life...

Fall Break was last weekend, and it was great. I got to see two of my best friends from high school, and then spent three fabulous days at home. I had all these plans to do all kinds of homework, but of course I only did about an hour's worth, and spent the rest of the time reading, lounging, painting, and sleeeeeping. There's nothing quite like going back to your own bed after being away from it for a month!

I'm glad I got my rest in over the weekend, because this week was just nuts. Details to follow...

Monday: Computer is dead. Run back and forth from IR about a bazillion times, make a trip to Best Buy to purchase an external harddrive (very pricey! ouch!), run back and forth from IR some more, and then wait foreverrrrrrrr (Sandlot style) while all of my pictures, music, and oh yeah documents, transfer over. Luckily, I got everything backed up before my computer decided to go completely under.

Monday night: Stay up til 2 a.m. writing a paper that's due Wednesday.

Tuesday: Wake up far too early, spend pretty much the entire day in class and in the computer lab working on this retailing paper, go to bed at 2:30 a.m. after FINALLY finishing my paper.

Wednesday: Wake up far too early (seeing the trend here?), study for my TEST that I have that day, hand in my paper, take the test, and go do more homework.

All the while, I've got Geneva Stunts practices mixed in there, meetings for my sorority, an Alpha Chi Alumni Founders Day dinner, Sorority 101 (for freshmen), and an advisor meeting. It's been crrraaaazzzy, and I am looking forward to the weekend and some sleep. It's funny though, because even though I'm tired and running around like I'm insane, I love it. I get more work done when I'm busy and under pressure.

It does kind of suck to not have my laptop in my room though. But, again, I get more work done in the labs because I don't have AIM to distract me, and I'm usually too embarassed to go on Facebook in a lab or the library (lol).

Dance Marathon is big annual event at Butler that raises money for Riley Hospital, and the students in charge of it went around and serenaded all of the housing units last night, so that was a lot of fun. They all came dressed up; one was a banana. It was great, and after they were done, a bunch of women from my house hung out in the informal living room and watched Grey's Anatomy (anyone else disappointed that there were no punches thrown!???!). Finally, I was able to be social for a little bit, and ended up riding in a stretch hummer!!!!! Long story, but I had never been in a limo before, so it was pretty fantastic!

There's a Virtual Job Fair coming up, sponsored by the department at Butler that helps students get internships and jobs, and prepare for them, so I need to go check out my options...I'll be doing my second internship in the Spring! Much to look forward to!!!
