I woke up at 5:30... pm.

Done with exams! Thank goodness.  I am so burnt out on school right now.

I took my last one on Friday morning... not too bad.

I was hoping to take a nap afterwards but some of my friends from Mississippi and Tennessee were in town for a drum corps camp. So, I had lunch with them out by the Keystone Mall.  Those of you who live in Indy are probably familiar with it, but if you're not, it's a really nice mall about 15 minutes away from Butler.  I'm not a big mall person, so even though I've lived here for two years I had never actually been there until this week, on Thursday.

The Keystone Arts Cinema, a movie theatre which shows indie films, was hosting the Indianapolis International Film Festival, so I went down there to check out a movie called 1000 Journals, which I had written about in a paper for my Postmodernism in the Arts Class.  It was very cool... learn more about the film at www.1000journalsfilm.com or the project at www.1000journals.com.  Anyway, I'm hoping to go there more next year to see more independent films... ever since I took this Postmodernism class I've become more interested in all kinds of contemporary art, including film.  Actually, Student Government hosted an indie short films night on campus this semester which was SO much fun.  I definitely hope they do that again next year.

Ok, obviously that was a bit of a tangent, but I'm excited about the discovery of that theatre! Back to my recap...

Friday night I was TIRED! So, my roomie and I went to Meijer, bought some Ben & Jerry's ice cream, and had a quiet movie night at home :)  We watched Stardust - anyone else like it? If you like fairy tales, you should rent it.  I was so tired that I was definitely ready to sleep by the time we finished the movie around 1 am.

Yesterday, I helped my big sis Ariel move out of Pi Phi. I'm so traumatized because this means the seniors really are graduating and we are all really getting older! The good news is that Ariel isn't going too far.  She and her boyfriend Leal just got a new apartment in Broad Ripple about 5 minutes from campus.  She's right on the Monon trail, close to all the great restaurants, and they just adopted an adorable new dog so I will definitely be visiting them there all the time.  I'm still sad that she won't be right down the hall from me, though... I will miss all of my sisters so much while I'm in Spain and when I move back it will be all the newbies living in the house! It's crazy how fast time passes and things change in college.

[Thankfully, most of my graduating friends are sticking around Indy... however two of my closest senior friends aren't! Laura and Forrest from BUSF (who I write about all the time haha) are leaving! Laura is going to grad school at the University of Nebraska and Forrest is taking a job with Boeing in Seattle, Washington.  Since I know they will probably read this at some point, I have to say I will miss you both so much! You better be good alumni and come back to visit ALL the time.]

Yesterday I also spent three hours helping out the Environmental Concerns Organization with a service project.  Basically, our library has these journals that they needed to get rid of which amounted to thousands of tons of paper that was going in the trash.  They could not recycle them because of the binding, so what we did was take box cutters, cut off the binding, and recycle the paper. We did some quick math and I think that I alone cut the binding off of at least 500 books! It was a nice way to get out the finals aggression, and good to know that we're doing something to be more green in our own university community.  We talked about how "being green" is becoming so trendy now (cough Walmart commericals cough) but what's really great is to see people actually taking action.  The recycling at Butler has gotten so much better in the last year - it makes me so happy!

After all the finals and the book destruction (haha) I was ready for some fun, so last night I went out to a few parties with some of my sorority sisters. We hung out at the Apartment Village for a while and then at our friends' house, where we got the firepit going since it was so cold out.  It was a fabulous night - I love all my old friends and seeing people I know, but I also love that you can always meet new people at Butler.   Anyway, I didn't get to sleep until around 3:30 am...

...and apparently my body (still fighting off the bronchitis) needed a LOT of sleep, because I rolled over at 10 am and when I next woke up it was 5:30 pm... whoa! Not cool to lose almost a whole day, but I am so glad to have caught up on my sleep.  It was obviously a crazy semester, and now it's time to recover.

Congrats on finishing another year at Butler! I love that indie short film night idea, I hope they'll still be doing that once I get to Butler! And good for Butler being eco-friendly! I just went to this Green Fair yesterday and I learned some pretty amazing things, so it's nice to see Butler making an effort to recycle and such!

Have a good summer Christina!

Aww thanks! It's been a crazy year, but it's always great to know I have so many supporters on this site!

I'm glad you're with me on the indie films and the environmentalism.  I do hope that's all going strong when you're in college, but I'm sure with smart students like you that won't be a problem.

Have a great summer too! learn lots, have fun and enjoy being young - that's my philosophy :)
