Life has been CRAZY recently! I finished my first week in St. Louis and it was a blast. I got home (Indy home) on Sunday, went to see Klint and Charlie (thanks for dinner, by the way!!), went to bed, went into work until noon and left for Chicago. Thanks to Aaron (Mooney, another admission counselor) (THANKS AARON:) who jinxed me, I drove to Chicago in a PT CRUISER. Yes, I was cruising in style (haha, no pun intended) up to Chicago. I wish I took pictures. Trust me, if you've ever wondered what it feels like to drive a PT Cruiser, or even ride in one, think about driving in a toaster. I feel like that's a pretty accurate description. I was even convinced that my car smelled like bread. (Ok, I could be acting slightly dramatic, but you get the picture, right?) No offense to my PT cruising friends, but I was just not a fan of it. The counselors I met up with in Chicago thought it was HILARIOUS (of course) and are still teasing me about it. Hopefully my next trip up I get an even more entertaining car. I'll keep you posted.
My trip to Chicago went really well. I met up with a good friend from another school, and we ended up going to dinner across the street from Maine East with another good friend and his grandparents. SO CUTE! We are all Admission Counselors, all travel Chicago and we met on the road last fall. It's nice to be able to travel with people you know and have grown close to-life seems a little easier knowing you have those people to see when you return. :) Dinner was at this little place in a strip mall-I love getting to discover new restaurants that way. I never would have thought to stop, but the food was good and I had a really good time catching up with Troy and Brian and getting to meet Brian's grandparents. They were so cute!
The fair at Maine East went well, it was just extremely hot. The gym wasn't air conditioned and I have never felt so gross. Seriously. I felt like a disaster and a half. (I'm really hoping though, that I didn't look it.) Regardless, there were a lot of great kids and families who attended so to those students-thanks for coming by! I love getting to talk with students and families and meet new people. Traveling for Butler is so much fun for me because that's all you are doing. Yes, it does get long and I do get tired, but I overall really enjoy it and have fun with it.
This morning I flew out of Chicago to St. Louis. My flight was at 6:45, so I got to the airport WAYYYY too early this morning. I've been feeling it all day. I am finally home, checking email, eating dinner and hanging out with the family. It's a quiet evening, and I am definitely ok with that!
Question for anyone reading-I am in the market for a GPS. Does anyone have any good recommendations? Just let me know!!
Finally, to CT who reads this :) Good to see you on Monday...hope you are doing well!!
