All you need is THETA LOVE!

I'm a KAPPA ALPHA THETA!!!!!!!!

As you can probably tell, I am SUPER excited to be a part of this sorority! Theta was my first choice and I definitely made the right decision! Bid day was an absolute blast.... we got sweatshirts, scarfs, shirts, and totes... ate pizza with our new sisters... and even went ice skating at the pepsi colosseum! I've been so excited this week to wear my Theta gear! I know this post is exclamation overload, but I am seriously beyond thrilled to be a KAO! I would most definitely recommend going through recruitment... the roller coaster ride is completely worth the end result!

If you have any questions about sorority life, just let me know! You can learn along with me!

Well, there are a lot of scheduled activities during the fall semester that help you get a feel of greek life in general as well as some aspects of the individual houses. Open houses in particular are a great way to get inside the houses and see how the girls really live and interact. There were two different days of open houses last semester, as well as other various info sessions. The fall semester events were helpful, but you really get a feel for where you fit in by going through recruitment. You meet so many girls from so many houses that are thrilled to meet you and want to get to know you. It can be hard trying to pick between a few of your top houses, but you usually get a feeling of where you truly belong. I know that sounds totally lame, but it's true, or at least it was for me (and many of the girls I've talked to). Recruitment is a great experience but I don't want to give it all away and spoil it for you.... you'll understand completely if you choose to go through with it next year! I hope that answered your question, and feel free to ask me anything else!

There are seven different sorority houses on campus, all of which have great girls who are unique in their own ways. If you decide to pledge a certain sorority during formal recruitment then decide you don't like the house, you can de-pledge. Almost every girl ends up loving the house she ends up in though, so this hardly ever happens... but if you are worried about not liking greek life, you should know that this is always a option.

That being said, greek life at Butler is truly different than it is at other schools. Every house, sorority and fraternity, is supportive of one another. I would definitely encourage looking into recruitment and keeping an open mind about going greek! I know I'm so glad that I did!
