It seems like that is NEVER the case, for me at least haha. I will say, joining a sorority has definitely filled up my schedule with all sorts of fun events... I think I've had only one weekend this year where there wasn't something planned. But even as a freshman I felt like there was always something going on for me to do! For instance - every weekend they show a movie in Jordan, there are planned events such as All Hall Fall Ball, Trick-or-Treating for kids, not to mention everything that goes along with homecoming week.
