Well the time has finally arrived, believe it or not, one year has already passed since the I began writing blogs. Actually my last blog was last weeks post but I thought this would be a fitting way to end it off. The journey started in Resco more specifically in the halls of the international unit but it ends here in the Apartment Village. The AV is roughly a 10min walk from campus and it houses Butler's upper classmen. Though four ppl share an apartment each person has their own individual room and two ppl share a bath room. Honestly I would have prefered to live in a cheaper apartment alittle closer to campus but I think Søren Kierkegaard said it best "life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards."
All the rooms basically look the same, so its up to you to add your own flavor to the mix so to speak. Well what can I say, it was an interesting experience to blog, before I got the job I didnt even know what a blog was lol. Anywayz don't quote me on this but I think the new bloggers should start blogging in about a little under a month so that ought to be somrthing to look forward to. So ITS THE END OF THE ROAD for me but before I go here are a couple pics of my apt room
and though the following picture has nothing to do with my room I thought it was hilarious.....and the message is simple FOR ALL FRESHMEN: Stay sober and this will not happen to you
hahahaaha...
I guess this is finally +++THE END+++
What is time and what are some of its implications? What is a déjà vu? Is it just a cliché or does it really hold the keys to the mysteries of the mind? Is it entwined with time; relating to the ocean of our individual existence or is it something more? How did the idea originate and why is it such a common occurrence among seemingly unrelated people?
......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
Is choice an option? I see Life as a network of interconnected metaphorical “trees”. Each with individual trunks being linked together by branches, where the trunk represents one major road of unavoidable, predetermined life. The branch would be the only available route to experience any significant change.
What if this anomaly was not a peek into the future but merely just a possible option in the pool of your immediate or somewhat distant future? Is our life already predetermined, written in stone? Is choice a candy coated elusion and destiny a euphemism for what is already written in the book of “how your life will unavoidably be.” Is it really possible to experience a déjà vu or rather is it just a paramnesia? The term was created by a French psychic researcher, Emile Boirac (1851-1917) in his book L'Avenir des Sciences Psychiques. Whether or not this is the case shouldn’t it be equally plausible that the subconscious mind puts together a scenario using the imagination and pieces of random information? The interesting thing is this “vision” is definitely not of the past and we live in the present so it could only be of the “future”. Is it then probable that we are driven subconsciously by the mind down a time path to the exact point at which you experienced the déjà vu? In other words you would be living the product of a future put together by your mind and not predetermined one.
um I don't know of any other way to say this so here goes I'll just write it... I didn't go to France !! Not because i didn'r want to but because I couldn't (was missing one of my documents) so instead of reading about me frolicking in France you're getting to read about me in INDY yay
PRE:
In order to hold your attention better I've devised a way back in Trinidad called "d real ting dey" in english its called "the shorter blog" lol. The day before my supposed departure all the kids that were going to France along with their parents met up at Fogo de chao down town Indy for the last supper kinda thing before the trip.I got to meet all the ppl I wouldn't see in France while eating fine Brazilian cuisine hmmm yummy lol. The restaurant though abit expensine is decorated with a soft moderatly lit wood interior and on the walls are rows of wines. The waiter tells you alot of useless things but the only thing that is important is green means yes i want while red means no i don't. However when it rains it pours as the waiters continuously bring heaps of meat to your table

POST:
Seeing that I remained here I made the best of it after all "when life gives you lemons.." right. All I did was party so nothing much happened except the usual but my oh my it was fun. I had some friends over at the house and we chilled!! And well here are the highlights
ok so I wanted to import some more photos but um im kinda experiencing technical difficulties uploading them ahhhh well you get the picture (ok those were some poorly chosen words)
THE END .....or is it??
Guests are a welcomed asset to anyones' entourage unless of course there're not at all wanted but this isn't the case here so I'll stop rambling and get down to business An Aussie's experience of summer school (written by an Australian):
Firstly, it's winter back home so I'm not sure if this is really considered "summer school" but hey, that's what you guys call it here so I will try to fit in. I'd like to say I've been trying to fit in for the past week or so but I haven't. And neither have any of the other Aussies, because you (Americans), seem to love us just the way we are. And we love you for it!
I think an Aussie's experience of summer school at Butler University is somewhat skewed. Minus the tiny showers of ResCo and the freezing cold air conditioning; class from 10-2, Monday-Friday, mainly watching the News from the night before and playing with video cameras is not something I would fairly compare to retaking already failed subjects or attempting a subject that would usually fit into an entire semester.
And when you can tell the story of piling 10 people into a 5 seater car on the way to a pancake lunch at ihop... it probably means you're not studying as much as you should be. What can I say? Us Aussies are laid back. And there are small pockets of time when I start to feel bad about distracting the kids who are trying to make something of their education, but they are fleeting and really, where did study ever get anyone?
We have a small saying back home that goes as follows: "P's get degrees" (that is, a pass mark will still get you a degree) and us media students adhere strictly to that rule. And that's not going to change simply because we are in another country. We will continue to attend all parties we are invited to (and show you how to drink properly) and we will stay up until the early hours of the morning simply to hear the gossip about last year's Aussie group. We will force down Starbucks in the morning to keep us awake during those grueling 4 hours of class and we will come back to ResCo and annoy those who take their education seriously because deep down, we know that you can fill the dorms with all the basketball players and all the ballerinas you want, but it's the Aussie's you truly love.
BEFORE READING THIS BLOG NOTE THAT THERE ARE AFEW REALLY CYNICAL/BAD JOKES LOOK OUT FOR THEM AND READ AT YOUR OWN RISK ..PS You may find it interesting to highlight the irregular spaces throughout the blog
Alright 2 blogs in as many days Hell yea im on a role:). Most summer sessions are unbearably boring tormenting ur soul leaving you with a lingering feeling of self mortification (bad joke #1) however fortunately for me (or you if you decide to take summer school) there is relief and no it not in the form of suicide (another bad one). Though summer I is a drag summer II isn't much better but it brings with it exchange students from Australia which make for an interesting July. Aparently this is the programs 3rd year but this is only my second time meetingthe mates from down under and boy oh Oi its getting better and better. At this point i'll like to break away from my train of thought and state that i've actually found an excuse that seems to work explaining why i hadn't bloged in almost 2 week ...the answer is as follows I WAS ON SABBATICAL... (take time that was actually a good joke try again) :D
Even though i no longer live in resco i attended the manditory unit meeting that i was cordially inveted to. There i met the great bunch of Aussies for this years program from Macquarie University and well the rest is history u know the regular we've been party-ing and whatnot ever since. In fact this last week end was a blast with back to back parties at the house (address omitted by its request) well if it could tlk thats what it would say im sure of it
If i had more time i would introduce the group but i dont im still recuperating from this weekend so since a picture is worth a thousand words here are a couple thousand words to finish up this blog (i've lost count all i know is that one was pretty horrible). Hopefully one of the aussies writes as a guest speaker on my blog soon till then L8a

FIN
Matane, ciao, adios & a tout a l'heure
yea i know its been a while ...so i've decided that i got alot of writting to do for my unexcused leave of absence. So firstly classes have been exhausting but thats not really an excuse but thats all i got right now lol. So take a trip with me back in time.. do you remember the july forth week end? it feels like yester-last week doesnt it :) neway back then i spent that day with my host family ......you know what i seriously recommend anyone that has the opportunity to hook up with a family to do so i mean even if they aren't completely like mine its still an experience and a half!! bottom line go for it. so back to the past, we went to the country club for dinner then onto the golf course for the fire works show the club put on (wow)
In between those events i was at the club's pool, with the kids of my host family and their friends, who just all happended to be foreign. Well lets not jump to conclusions I'm sure they all had fun but i didn't. Since you may not be wondering why I'll tell you in one word OCHEM yea i was studying for that wretched class so one would think that im ace-ing it right um no im not lol. If you ever have to take the class for whatever reason choose your professor wisely (end quote).
I didn't go down town to see the fire works but thats always an option if you happen to be in Indy during the 4th weekend.Even though I'm not a US citizen i think i really like the forth holiday the idea of it is cool and i'm beginning to understand how good it feels to get a break away from work during summer. Trinidad and Tobago also has a july 4th but its actually on August 31st which is the day of our independence from the British. Unfortunately for me i won't be home because the first day of uni begins on the 27th so gracias a dios por the 4th of july.
Tune in to c2's blog in like a day or two for more excuses as to why i havent posted until now and for my next blog THE CHILDREN OF SUMMER: OIE OIE OIE
so yea this week's supposed vlog didnt quite turn out as i would have liked! its late Suday night (early monday morning) and i just uploaded my first video onto you tube ... if you havent seen it im like a walking, guitar playing advertisment im serious it was by mear coincidence that i had on a butler t-shirt i swear lol. Well i know one thing for sure im gonna try again next week and i gotta figure out how to send my vidoes to brad so that he could link them to BU otherwise its kina of pointless. Oww i almost forgot here's a link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h023nhvA4Y8
If all goes well sometime next semester im thinking of starting a band
the band name the genre and the music has all been decided all i need now are the musicians to play the music lol
This is NOT a story of a maiden by the name of Summer who lit the sky with her beauty or the energy she incited in the hearts of men with just her presence and whom many considered to be a becon of hope. Legend has it that she was an integral part of daily life of each and every person she touched and as a result was worshipped as a goddess transcending the ages in an immortal state of ubiquity In fact this is a story firstly because it falls under the cateory of a blog and secondly its kina impromtu oozing with some juicy satire lol. So all I'm saying is HELL YEA SUMMER'S HERE!!
We are now at that point where the days are at their longest and best-est :) so 2 days ago (June 20th 08) was the summer solstice that is to say we are enjoying longer days = more sun yeeaah fyi while I was doing research on the solstice for this blog I discovered that monuments such as stonehedge were bulit to track the yearly movements of the sun through out the year wow. I don't know you guys but I am really enjoying this weather wheather that has anything to do with me being from Trinidad. .. hmn I possibly lol
Well if you are going to be out and about you may want to consider putting on some sun lotion for protection yea because people are catching a new disease thats going around its called skin cancer. In terms of SP the higher the better just insure that it doesn't contain phenylbenzimidazole (PBI). PBI causes DNA photodamage when illuminated while in contact with living tissue = BAD... but yea don't let this blog ruin any plans after all its the return of Summer
A sparkle in the twilight, a diamond in the rough, a dash or hope, ..no this isnt cliche central its how im curently choosing to describe my weekend before i start the long night ahead of me (you've guessed it if you're thinking i probably have an exam tmrw) the third and final installlment before our last exam....
So this weekend was pretty eventful, yes i did get some studying done, but the highlight was actually the b-b-q we held over at my house on saturday the food was u guessed it bbq chicken and hambuger patties. Believe it or not the guys did the cooking which was a bit inconvenient i must say espcially seeing that father's day was today :). Needless to say the burgers looked diseased and misshapened lol (don't point at me i did the chicken). Besides the mutant burger incidents everything went quite smoothly as we laughed enoyed each others company and listened to caribbean music frolicking the night away... well sorta

And well today woahh i don't even know where to begin ... all international students have the option as a freshman of registering/ enrolling / signing up for a host family, they would help the student better integrate into the foreign culture that s/he is immersed in...in other words they are supposed to be like a family away from home. Today we went to the Brazilian steak house in down town indy for father's day oh my god i literally ate for an hour and 30mins straight i kid u not... i ate at least three servings of every meat they had available hmmmn yummy granted now i feel abit sick but hey it was worth it :D
My professor said at the beginning of the first day of class, that you'd have to be crazy to take organic chemistry and even crazier to take it over the summer guess which category i fall into.!! Ok so here's the run down of my schedule every day we have class from 8am till 1pm and yes these obscene hours do indeed include lab sessions. Officially class runs from 8 - 9:15am then we break (for LAB of course 9:15 - 11:15am) and finally class resumes from 11:15 - 1pm-ish. Pretty bad huh yea so everyday follows this routine except for mondays where we dont have any lab at all ...simply because we have an exam allocated for that day, i believe the saying goes "someone just shoot me now!" Following the exam we resume class for extended sessions wooopy makes you wish for a lab day right? It so happened that yesterday being Tesday (the day after the 1st exam) i was pumped, ready for some "lab action". The lab it self was straight forward mix yeast with sugar setting up the apparatus in a way that O2 could enter the round bottomed flask via a cylinder while allowing CO2 escape thus prducing alcohol and water now the hard part was the fractional distillation....
THE RUN DOWN: Normally things in the lab range from a couple cents to abt $10 so if you break something its highly likely that you wont break your pocket but in this lab the fractional colomn (the most comonly broken item in lab) was worth get this $$65.00 so naturally that started preceedings on a bad note. We had to place something of worth in a box to hold as collateral some ppl put their credit cards in, others their divers lisence, ha me, i put in my laser light lol. Now had you broken the colomn and not had the money to pay lets just say you wouldnt be driving home (legally) until you cashed in so to speak.
As the lab progressed a number of ppl broke an array of items but no one was to be so unlucky as to break the fractional colomn one girl broke 3 items (costed her like 15 bucks)...i know what you're thinking and the answer is no i didnt break anything.......HOWEVER lol i did set up the apparatus incorrectly so when i ran the water (used to rapidly cool gas) through the hose it became disconnected thus water was spewed everywhere over the chemicals + over ppl and + over the equipment = BAD one guy said it looked like a fountain gone wrong another person said "ah it burns get it off me"and I dont think i should repeat what the girl (who was directly behind me) said. When things happen when you dont quite expect them to, your body doesnt have time to react to the situation logically so primal or basic reflexes kick in and Its kinda funny because I had to think fast, the water was coming right at me. In other words i didnt have time to think so instead of trying to turn off the water all i did was side step the oncoming flow of water (snicker) im guessing thats why the girl behind me wasnt too happy. She in turn tried to take matters into her own hand...she attempted to block the water from exiting the hose but all she did was cause it to spew in all different directions
Finally things were brought under control but not before i was scared for the rest of my labs taking days. Im beginning to believe more and more that someone was behind all the mischief that took place on that eventful Tuesday morning.....
THE CULPRIT:

This is yet another Special Investigative Report, thus bringing the total to... as many as the number of semesters… that I've been working these, suspicious occurrences. Hi I'm Texor Texel and today I’ll be bringing to the table the issue of high gas prices.
[corny news music]
Gas prices have been spiraling out of control recently with reports of it hitting up to $4 a gallon with a vehicle having an average tank capacity of about 20 gallons its gonna take a whopping 80 bucks to fill up your tank. Compared to 10 years ago it would have only taken about $20. What could have caused this drastic change??
Fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) have been undoubtedly one of mans' greatest discoveries and nowadays you can’t seemingly go anywhere without seeing - directly or indirectly - its uses and applications in the mundane issues of daily life. It can be used to mass-produce billions of appliances and products from paint to DVDs to even lubricant not to mention the massive amounts of energy it provides. It is an unrenewable source of energy that is to say when it runs out it’s gone for good. Could this be the cause of increased gas prices? or is there something more clandestine, surreptitiously hidden behind the veils of the issue? I want to pose a question (as provocative as it is) As an American citizen what would you do if you were told because of global warming you couldn't drive your car to walkable distances? I'll continue while you chew on that question..... What is the green house effect?
According to EPA (environmental protection agency) the greenhouse effect is the rise in temperature that the Earth experiences because certain gases in the atmosphere (water vapor, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, and methane, for example) trap energy from the sun. Without these gases, heat would escape back into space and Earth’s average temperature would be about 60ºF colder. Now global warming is simply the increase in the Earth's average temperature due to the green house effect. 3/4s of the increase in carbon dioxide in the atmosphere in the last 20years is due to the burning of fossil fuel and most of the rest is due to land use change in particular deforestation.

Now here comes the trippy part is up until 2007 President Bush dismissed reports put out by his administration, warning that human activities are behind the climate changes that are having significant effects on the environment, stating that there was insufficient scientific evidence to support the accusation. But now (rightfully so) they have reconsidered their position (somewhat) on the matter. So since global warming does exist it should be only natural that its effects are real as well
· Glacier retreat
· Rise in the average sea level around the world
· Extremes in weather conditions
· Extinction of species
· And of course the issue of pollution
Now back to the question that I posed earlier... I dont think a bill like that would ever get passed in congress in the first place but if it did it would not go well with the public after all this is the land of the free and the brave so I guess that rules out the possibility of the government ever making such a demand or moreover passing such a bill. BUT WHAT IF gas prices were raised deliberately to curb the situation giving you the public a false sense of security as though you still had command over your own life!! I dont know about you but I would much rather comply (walk or drive more discriminately) by "choice" because I cant afford to constantly buy gas than comply simply because I was told to do so ...
What ever the case for these high gas prices one things for sure we the average consumers are not happy with the situation ....Bill back to you

Hi... it feels good to be back, reinstated, to be blogging again. For a while I wasn't sure if I'd have the opportunity to be doing this again but here i am :D. So with great pleasure i'd like to reintroduce myself... hi I'm c2, your favortie blogger back for the fisrt time and yes i know its kind of an oxymoron but i've never been gone before so this is actually the first time i've returned lol. I will be blogging over the duration of the summer filling you all in on the juicy fun times I have here in Indy as I endeavour to complete two summer semsters of organic Chemistry at Butler. I dunno but chem isnt exactly remotely fun so um ill definately blog about the in-betweens the outside class room expriences and special investigative reports neway don't forget to leave us loads of messages, questions and to check us out at
http://go.butler.edu/cs/ to see our daily updates between blogs via twitter and ......
Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.
So finals are finally over for me ,,,no more stress-ing only fete-ing lol I kina finished my last exam abt 10mins ago and yes i am aware that its Saturday yea so I dont have to say how much it sucked having to get up at 7 to take an 8am final (awful) ...well on the bright side its really getting beautiful and not to mention its pretty quiet and peaceful (solely because most ppl went home on friday) neway time to get down to business. This may very well be my last entry as a butler blogger its been one school year already ..wow how time flies! Im not going to end it like the sopranos or anything like that ...so I've set up a nice little equation for EDDP students to sum up what i've learnt thus far :)
As every Engineer knows:
Work / Time = Power
.
Since Knowledge = Power and Time = Money, we have:
Work / Money= Knowledge
.
Solving for Money, we get:
Work / Knowledge = Money
.
Thus, as Knowledge approaches zero, Money approaches infinity, regardless of the amount of Work done.
Conclusion: The less you know, the more you make. :D have a great break everyone and thanks it was fun
Now where shall I begin.. it all started one bright sunny afternoon looking up at the clear blue indianapolis skies whilst a cool breeze ran gently over my face relaxing every muscle of my body with a soothing ...i should probably stop here seeing that this has nothing to do with my blog lol.
I went to Pi Phi's formal with my good old buddy Anna ... since I'm not affiliated with any sorority lol neway it was last night in a wing at the Indianapolis Zoo how fitting! (note the sarcasm) Proceedings started not too long after 7pm, when we left Pi Phi in two buses, and finished at 10:30 ;( oh well. So as you probably already realise this blog doesn't seem to follow any chronological order WHATSOEVER but hey alot of things in this world don't make any sense this is just another one of those things lol. Any one over 21 got a free green band which allowed them access to the not so free bar while everyone else had to watch on with thirsty lips bastards (jk) this unfortunate travesty didn't affect us too much as we were adequetly prepared

So do you find it a little bit suspicious just a little that in most of the photos half my face is missing dont worry it wasn't blasted off or nething like that BUT if a certain someone had worn their shoes *ahem maybe just maybe the rest of me might of been in the pics.
All in all even though the night was pretty short it was quite enjoyable so here were the ups.... good company, yummylicious food and of course meeting tonnes of new ppl..now for the down side horrible DJ wow not even kidding and creepy secruity guards watching your every move eeww. My first formal experience was .......in fact an interesting one and hopefully not the last
Oh the p party where anyone could be anything they wanted once it began with the letter "P" so beyond a shadow of a doubt im sure you all know what i was (snicker) ..... so the list of costumes was, to say the least, pretty intense lol (in otherwords we were all chasing a prize for the best p costume)!
