Hey I was just wondering what the Freshman Living Learning Centers Entail. I got the idea that it was a group that lived in the same area of the dorm and had special events planned for them. But that is just a brief overview and I want to know what else goes on. I heard there are 24 quiet hours. Can someone explain what its like to live in the FLLC?
Hey - I heard that it's kinda like what you have described, I don't know much more tho.
Anyone out there live in one of these?
Hey everyone! I lived in a FLLC unit in Schwitzer last year and it was good times. It's not really a big commitment, so don't let that deter you from applying. Basically it just means that you have a closer connection to the faculty-in-residence in your building. For me, that was a music professor and her husband who lived in the apartment in Schwitz. She would plan some events for us like going to the opera, or out to dinner in Broad Ripple, and I think we did a service project too. The FLLC units also get more money to put on events and programming, buy tickets to events at Butler and around Indy, etc. so that's pretty sweet - you should definitely apply!!
(Also, I think 2/3 of them in Schwitzer are on the first floor... definite bonus when you're moving in!)

I was just afraid that it hindered the college experience being so close to faculty. I applied to it. How often do you do an event? once or twice a month?
Probably about once a month, and none of it's mandatory.
You're really not that close to the faculty (unless you want to be). I mean, they live in their own apartment and they really don't bother you at all... the only time you really see them is at events that you choose to go to.
