    Professor Suggestions

This is for all the Butler students/alum - what teachers should be avoided at Butler?  I'm working on my schedule, so please help me out!

    Re: Professor Suggestions

Hey, can you tell me what kind of classes you're looking for?

For English/C&T, most people really love Professor Walsh, who is the subject of the facebook group: "Professor Walsh, Shakespeare lover, Comedian, Best Professor on Campus."

If you're interested in creative writing, Dan Barden is really fun. I love Elise Edwards' anthropology classes.  Elizabeth Mix is very cool for art/art history.

but yeah, if you can be more specific about what classes you're looking at, I'll definitely help you out!

The classes I have to sign up for are:  freshman writing seminar, general chem, calculus, health sciences seminar, PE101 or 102, and a fine arts or social sciences class

As of right now, I have put down Clauss for the first year seminar, Wahl for calculus, and Roscoe for health sciences seminar.  Are there any of those I need to replace?

Oh, Clauss is actually my boss for the Writer's Studio, so I had him last semester for EN301.  He can be challenging, but he's a really good teacher and class is entertaining - my friends who had him for their first year seminar liked him as well.  I don't know about either of the other profs, but maybe someone else reading this will.

So, I'm looking through courses to schedule when I go for Registration on May 16...For the English First Year Seminar, Neville or Ries?  Has anyone had either of them?

For The new C&T requirement: I was thinking about doing the Europe course...Bennett or Riggs?

I'm super excited to visit Butler again and schedule my classes!

    Re: Professor Suggestions

Hey Seth, I haven't had Neville before, but all the older English majors absolutely love her.  They say she is "the nicest person in the world", so she would probably be a good choice.  I'm not sure who Ries is... might be an adjunct.

Yea, tons of the classes are already full...yay for being a music major who doesn't find if he's actually been musically accepted until almost March!  Only a week and a few days until my registration!

ha ha, yea I just didn't want to jinx my scholarship/acceptance to the school of music, so I decided to wait until I got my acceptance letter - moreso my parent's logic and not wanting to pay $300 if I didn't get in or didn't get enough aid...
