Hi Katie!
I checked on this requirement and wanted to follow-up with you, to clarify the elementary education Spanish requirement. Here is what I found out:
"We just approved a different requirement than before- it is now a cultural competency requirement that can be filled through many different options as follows:
Students must demonstrate cultural competency in ONE of the following ways:
A. Foreign language proficiency at the 203 level or above.
B. Study abroad for a minimum of 3 hours of semester credit
C. Equivalency of 2 semesters of sign language
D. One ENL course (for those pursuing reading licensure, or by permission of the instructor)
E. 3 hours of a relevant independent study, as approved by the program faculty.
So her placement test would very likely place her out of this requirement OR she could continue to study her french."
Let me know if this makes sense; contrary to what I previously mentioned it appears that you COULD continue to study French here and have that count towards your requirement.
Have a good one!
