its just cuz i dont check email much.. im on  myspace more.. and not hardly on that cuz i have dial up.. its dumb cuz everywhere around me gets dsl or cable but we r like in a dead zone.. i live in a little neighborhood right outside my small town and we cant get it.. we keep hoping tho

I'm Stephanie...and I am a junior at Carmel High School....I am seriously interested about your pre pharm/ Pharm D programs at butler...is there anything I could do that would really give me a leg up on all of the competition (I know getting in is extremely competitive.)  I am also visiting Butler on November 14 and going to a Bulldog Game!!! So excited..  Thanks for the help!!

Hi! It's me again! I seems like everyone is so involved in Butlerand has so much spirit and LOVES it! I'm so excited! I just got the confirmation that my app has been received a few days ago! I am actually graduating early in January and during that time will be working to earn some money for school and possibly attending a junior college for a semester to keep my brain going. Does Butler look down upon early grads?

Absolutely not! I think it's quite an achievement to be able to graduate a semester early, and believe me, whatever money you save up or classes you take will definitely come in handy. Good for you, and congratulations!

Hey Stephanie!  You must be one of the lucky ones going to the game next week, it filled up FAST.  You'll have a great time here, and you will learn a lot about Butler too!

Keep your grades up, get involved, and get to know your admission counselor well.  They can be a great voice for you when it comes to admission.  Posting in the forums can't hurt, either...

 I talked to one of my pharmacy friends who actually went to Carmel HS too! (Her name is Wendy L, and she graduated in 2006, in case you know her.) Anyway, she just said you should keep your grades up and try to take more challenging classes in math and science.  All the pharmacy majors agree that once you get into Butler, the best way to stay in the pharmacy program is by working hard!

 Sorry to not have a really specific answer for you, but I think in this case the general "keep your academics strong" advice is the best way to go!

Ok, so another one of my friends got back to me with another idea:

She said: "I don't know how much they take this into account, but it always looks good if you work in a pharmacy in high school so you show even more interest...i know my admissions counselor thought it was a good thing."

 Obviously this is the opinion of a student and not an admissions counselor, but I thought I'd pass it along to you as a possible idea

(although, please be aware, there are tons of pharmacy students here who did NOT work in pharmacies in high school so don't stress out about it!)

Oh and I have one really random question that my counselor told me was really important for getting into pharmacy school...ok i'm in pre-calculus right now...so should I take AP Calculus or AP Statistics next year?? My counselor told me that some colleges don't want you to take calculus early because of some really weird reason...I don't know...thanks again! Stephanie
