hi. i was wondering what furniture is already included in the Schwitzer dorm rooms? is there two of everything? like are there two desks with chairs, etc? just so i know what furniture to bring.
In each of the Schwitzer dorm rooms there are two desks, two chairs, two beds, and two dressers. Last year before I moved in I took pictures of my room when it was completely empty, so I will post those on my blog if you would like to see for yourself! :) Heres the link....

You would have taken pictures of your room Steph haha smart though. FYI Ross has the same furniture just not two walk in closets more of regular closets
There are also two trash cans in each room--in Schwitzer, at least. So don't worry about bringing a trash can. I used Target-sized plastic bags all year for trash and recycling as well. I could put one bag on either side and voila! A trash/recycling unit on the cheap.

On that note, I highly recommend unscrewing the shelving unit/light that sits atop the desks in Ross and placing it in your closet - it will fit! It makes the desk less cramped and adds useful storage space to the bottom of your closet.
- Just remember to reattach the unit at the end of the year!

Meh. That works, but then you lose the storage space above your desk. Of course, I had my dresser in my closet all year, so I didn't really need more storage units in there. I can see how that would be useful for shoes, though.
The cleverest thing I've seen was in my friend's room: Her roommate's father ha put two little pieces of wood under each side of the desk shelving unit. It made the unit larger (farther up from the desk), gave her more space. Smart, huh?
Not that detaching the shelf is a bad idea! I reread my post and realized I might have sounded a bit negative--I didn't mean that! :)
