Hello, I am new to this so I'm sorry if this has been asked already, but I am applying to the PA program (to start next fall) and I am wondering what are some fun things to do in and around the city?

I am from northern Minnesota so "outdoor stuff" (skiing, hiking, fishing, etc) is the norm up here.

Thank you

Well I might not be the best person to answer your question, (I'm not really outdoorsy) but I'll do my best!  Fun things to do in the city are to go downtown and just walk around the circle and canal and such, there are tons of opportunities for shopping of course, and going to Broad Ripple (the area nearest to Butler).  There are plenty of places to eat, shop, and just walk around near Butler and they are all pretty cool!  Outdoors wise....there isn't much right by Butler, because it's basically right in the middle of the city, but if you travel outside the city there are plenty of places for that kind of stuff!  Brown County is a great area for hiking, there is a skiing place north of Indy I think...(I know there is another one in Southern Indiana, but it's sort of far away.)  And I'm sure that there are plenty of places to fish even closer to campus, I'm just not very up on my fishing areas around Indy.  But basically, from Butler you can get to every area of the city within 30 minutes, which is great when you want to go somewhere and do something!

Cool.

Thanks a lot. There is definitely a lot to do and everything I have read sure makes it sound like Indy is the place to be.

There are also lot of things you can do on campus. I know many people run or ride bikes through Holcomb Gardens and around the campus. There is also a high ropes course that is open on certain occasions. I know I went with my unit as a freshman, and it was free in that instance. If you're interested, you can look here. People also play campus golf when it's nice out. This description is less than flattering, but this one (scroll down a bit if you can't find it) is more accurate but not as funny.

Great suggestion Olivia, biking is one of my favs!

I currently work as a consultant for a ingrown hair site.
