Yeah, I think the rooms are definitely pretty big, especially compared to other universities where my friends go! They do not come with carpet but you can buy carpet on campus during Welcome Week pretty cheaply.  There are certain restrictions on decorating - you can't do anything that will leave permanent damage to the rooms, but Command strips products are great! Of course, everyone's got posters and that sort of thing to personalize the rooms.

Here's a photo of my freshman year dorm room - this shows one corner of the room.

Hope that helps! Any other questions??

Adding to Christina's post: you don't have to pay for those Command strips adhesive things - at least not the little square ones. At least in Ross Hall, everyone gets a little package of them to help put up posters and whatnot (because you can't use thumbtacks on the bare walls). When you run out, you can just go to the front desk and ask for some and they'll give you more for free.

1. I love your picture! (Who doesn't adore Jim??) I actually spent the majority of last night watching old episodes of The Office with my dad!

2. Yeah, boys are definitely allowed! This is college! Freedom! : )

There are "visiting hours" though - so you can have guests around until 2 am on weekdays and all 24 hours on weekends.  I know this is true for Schwitzer, the all female dorm where I lived, and I think it is true for Ross too. Ross is a coed dorm, but all the girls' rooms are on the third floor.

Guys live on the first and second floors and the basement of Ross Hall.  There are also lounges, a kitchen, a computer lab and laundry facilities in the basement which both male and female residents can use.
