    Fraternity Housing

I know I can't live in a fraternity house until I'm a sophomore, but I'm curious about which frat has the best house.  I don't mean the most popular house, but which one has the best facility as far as cleanliness, nice furnishings, etc.  I want to go Greek, but I can't imagine living in a dirty house.

Hello, and welcome!  I will let some of the students leave their comments about the cleanliness of fraternities, etc.   You might want to ask Sarah a question also, she blogged about an event where people could hear about sororities, but I'm not sure if they talked about fraternities there.  The post is at: http://go.butler.edu/cs/blogs/sarah/archive/2007/11/13/panhellenic-dessert.aspx

I think the best way to find out is just to visit the houses! They are plenty of open parties during the fall, and also rush events so you can see the house in a more everyday setting.

    Hey Bob -

I actually did see a sorority while I was a senior in HS, because when I came to visit my host was Greek and she took me over to see her house.  So, if you know or meet someone on campus who is Greek, they would probably be willing to give you a tour.  However, open houses don't really happen until you are actually a student here.

Another option is to check out the Greek organizations websites - these usually have pictures of the house, sometimes like a virtual tour kind of thing, and they will also give other information about the chapter that you might be curious about.

You can check out Butler's Greek chapters at http://www.butler.edu/greeklife/?pg=526

If you are just curious about Greek life, this might be a good thing to do, but try not to develop opinions about specific chapters before you come here - you'll get the most out of your experience at Butler if you come in with an open mind!
