Hey balletgirl! I just responded to another question about the Honors Program, so you might be interested to read that and learn more about the benefits of the program: http://go.butler.edu/cs/forums/t/846.aspx?PageIndex=2
To address your specific question here is some info from the Honors Program site: "Students who have been accepted to Butler University with a combined SAT score of 1320 or higher OR an ACT composite score of 30 or higher OR who are in the top 5% of their high school graduating class will be invited to apply to the Honors Program." What that means is that your grades can get you an automatic invitation, but everyone still needs to apply to be in the program.
I'd say go ahead and apply now. The application process doesn't take too much time and if you join the Honors Program now you get to come to Honors Orientation and get started on an Honors course in the fall, which are both great ways to meet new people.
Does that answer all your questions? Let me know and I can definitely tell you more!

Hey, it sounds like you should be invited then. Sometimes it just takes them a while to process everything. I don't think I got my invitation until February or March. If you want to know for sure when they'll be sent out, you could email the Honors coordinator, Lisa Markus at lmarkus@butler.edu, or ask your admissions counselor for more info.
When do they notify people of being in the Honors Program or not??
It's actually not until late March to mid-April when Honors program notifications go out. If you haven't received them, I would actually give it a litle more time before emailing. Hope this helps! Please let me know if you need anything else!
