are we allowed to bring floor lamps? on the residence life website it said something about not bringing "decorative lights." i bought one of those lamps with the five heads to take so i hope i can put it in my room.
As long as it's not a halogen lamp or those string lights you should be ok. They just don't want you decorating your room with lamps like something from the 80's because of the fire hazard involved and trust me it sucks getting up at 4am when the alarm is going off. If your going to use it for light and study your fine if it's just for cool decoration with no actual pupose I would suggest leaving it at home

Lamps with 5 heads are a popular dorm room staple, so don't worry about that. Decorative lights means like Christmas lights or those tube light things. Happy dorm decorating! : )
