I would imagine that a premed student would major in chemistry and/or biology. So I think that a premed student would probably be very similar to a pre-pharmacy student. It will consist of a lot of science classes (including physics, which us pharmacy students get to avoid) with a lot of labs. Of course, that will be on top of the liberal arts requirements for graduation. A lot of science / pharmacy / PA majors like to think that their liberal arts classes aren't important, but I think that some of them can be really useful, particularly the English classes. Going into a health care profession, I think it's key that you can communicate well to avoid errors that could harm the patient (but this is just me on my soapbox!)
Just as a sidenote, I think everyone who's taken chemistry at Butler would agree that our chem department is pretty strong. There's a bit of a rivalry between pharmacy and chemistry majors, but I still have a lot of respect for chemistry majors. They're a really smart bunch of people! Everyone that I know or have heard of that has majored in Chemistry has headed off to medical school or graduate school, so it's a major I would definitely consider!
