  • Why I love marshmallows

The weather = gorgeous. Despite the rain, I've been enjoying the great outdoors because it's been warm enough to venture out in jeans and short sleeves. And since the rain held off last night, it was just about perfect for roasting marshmallows! S'mores? In a residence hall? Sort of. I've...

  • Water, water everywhere: the plumbing badly needs repair*

Star Fountain. Source of light and joy. It is Butler tradition that you must jump into Star Fountain before you graduate, since you are not supposed to jump into the fountain. Savvy? I've not yet taken the plunge, but some of the residents of ResCo, Wing A went for a late night swim. Remember my...

  • The positive side of eight o'clock classes

I have four eight o'clock classes this semester. Isn't that a cheery start to a blog post? I have Voice at 8 am on Monday and Wednesday, and I have Music Theory for Dance on Tuesday and Thursday. My Fridays basically rock since my first class is not until 10 am (and today, English was cancelled...

  • What I wish I knew then that I know now...

Let me start this off by saying that it finally feels like fall. It's lovely. As I look back on all the time I have already spent here, I thought of all the things that I have learned in the past few weeks... thing I wish I had known before I started school. I don't want to leave everyone in...

  • Have wheels, will travel

I have my bike! I have my bike! I'd tell you more, but you can just watch this video instead: [GAHHH! It's not working again . I'm sorry. I'm really, really sorry. Please make my day and go watch the video on Youtube.] Yup. I love my new bike. If you were lazy and didn't watch the...

  • Re: Living Situation

Hey, Well, Butler requires you to live on campus through your Junior year. It's a new policy that came into effect after the Apartment Village was built a couple of years ago to make sure that those apartments were filled. I'll be honest, even Butler students were outraged when the policy was...

  • Re: Best/Worst of Dorms

Hey, 1) All of the dorms have computer labs (Schwitzer, Ross, Resco). I am not positive about the Apt. Village - they might have one in the Dawg House, which is like the central building over there where they have laundry facilities and a convenience store and other stuff. 2) I think the standard answer...

  • Re: Best/Worst of Dorms

Hey Jen! Yes, that is an option. Most sophomores choose to live in Residential College (Resco) which is a suite-style residence hall (sets of two rooms with two people each that share a bathroom in the middle). Sophomores can also live in University Terrace apartments, but that building does have limited...

  • Housing next year

Hey! So did you guys that are for sure coming to Butler already turn in your housing info? Ask any questions to current students here (dorms, the closet size, what to bring, etc.) OR just tell us where you're living and share your res hall pride. (GO SCHWITZ! haha)

  • Re: How is Aramark really doing? Students speak up here...

I'm a current freshman at Butler, so I eat quite a bit in Atherton, Resco, and C-Club. Although you hear a lot of complaining about the food on campus, I personally don't think it's too bad. I usually go to Atherton for lunch, sometimes Resco, and C-Club for dinner. I enjoy eating lunch in...
