Transferring Credits
A Transfer Credit Evaluation (TCE) will be sent to admitted students with their offer of admission but will not include course work in progress or planned before enrollment at Butler. However, the audit will be updated when official transcripts of additional course work are received. Any questions regarding the TCE should be directed to the Office of Registration and Records.
A student who has fewer than 12 hours of transfer credit will be required to meet the criteria as defined for freshman admission, in addition to the transfer requirements.
Your credits from previous colleges/universities will be evaluated by the Office of Registration and Records to determine how they will transfer to Butler. Credits often will transfer to help meet the requirements of Butler’s core curriculum. Every Butler student must satisfy the requirements of the core curriculum, in addition to their major requirements, before they are eligible for graduation. The core curriculum requirement is waived for students who already hold a Bachelor’s degree. Students must complete a minimum of 40 hours at Butler to be eligible for graduation.
